Winemaking at Morambro Creek is very traditional and labour intensive. Oak maturation takes place using 35-40% new barrels with the oak type being taditionally American. In good cellars, Morambro Creek Shiraz can age for anywhere from 7 to 10 years. Deep purple in colour. A rich powerful nose of cassis with overtones of vanilla and coffee. Lush, ripe palate dominated by black fruits, cherry and chocolate.

Colour is a medium reddish purple. The accent is on spices with focused fruit, dark berries and earthy aromas. The palate displays ripe blackberries and spice followed by savoury overtones, all supported by a deft touch of oak from twelve months maturation. Mint and aniseed, cedar and softness, in an early maturing styling, soft tannins round off a precise and well made Shiraz. Mikunihare Shuzo is located in the small town in the east of Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture.
Founded in 1887, it has a history of more than 120 years. It is about 50 meters away from Toyama Bay and located at the lowest reaches of the Kurobe River. Surrounded by the Sea of Japan, it is backed by the northern Japanese Alps. Since its establishment, it has been brewing sake using groundwater that has flowed from the snow melted in the Northern Alps through the ground over a hundred years later.
