Blason d’Issan Margaux 2017

$350.00
Blason d'issan is the second wine of Château d'issan, the third Grand Cru Classé in 1855 from the Margaux appellation. It is made from a blend of young vines 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot matured in 35% new oak. Decanter describes it as "rather lovely... It has a real depth to the fruit, with a brush of caramel through it and a highly appealing cigar box twist on the finish. It doesn't quite have the voluptuous ripeness of 2015 and 2016, but there's plenty of Margaux elegance, precision and touches of florality." 94 The 2017 Château Blason d'Issan is medium bodied with a light touch of tannin; good fruit core and an earthy finish. Drinking window 2022 - 2032. ABV: 13% Size: 750mL Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot Region: Margaux, Bordeaux, France

$980.00
With their smoky and spicy bouquet, the red wines are of an admirable quality and a very characteristic softness. Quality of the terroir, sustained efforts and dynamism have borne fruit bringing Pape Clément to a level very close to that of the premiers crus. Great notes of blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, gravelly earth, mocha, and hints of licorice all flow to a medium to full-bodied wine that has remarkable purity of fruit as well as polished tannins.
