The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru has a generous bouquet of slightly smudged honey and clementine aromas, touches of tropical fruit emerging with time in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a slightly viscous opening and good concentration, although it needs a touch more nervosité toward the finish. Perhaps shaped by the warmth of the growing season, this is nevertheless a fine Chassagne.

Tournon by M Chapoutier Shays Flat Shiraz 2015
Named after a locale in the Australian Pyrenees, Shay’s Flat is produced on an east facing ridge in the southern foothills. It appears as a natural amphitheater with red soils of schist, quartz and rich clay. The vineyard features ten hectares of Shiraz in two parcels.
The Shay’s Flat vineyard sits at an altitude of 350m in the Western Pyrenees Ranges and is organically farmed. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. A small proportion of the wine is aged in tanks to preserve the freshness of the flavours.
Complex nose of black fruits (cheery, blackberry) with hints of tobacco (havana cigar). On the palate, aromas of black fruits and liquorice with supple and delicate tannins.
